recycle city

I'm going green a bit early this week because we will be posting our Bow-Wow Bugs a Bug book giveaway this Friday!!

My oldest daughter is officially K-5 this coming Fall and is curious and inquisitive as all 5 yr olds are! We play store. We put out the food, shop, and pay; teaching early math skills and creativity all in one. What I'm going to incorporate into our weekly pretend shopping experience is playing "store manager".

Set the scene.....

  • Imagine you manage your own supermarket. What are some things you can do to reduce the amount of waste caused by the products you sell?

She'll need some help with this so we will visit visit recycle city for more teachable ideas and answers.

Imagine this........

  • Name three ways that each of these items can be reused, instead of throwing them away.
  • (You can use the whole thing or only part of it.)
    - Cardboard box
    - Plastic milk carton
    - Glass jar
    - Wooden board
    - Plastic bag
    - Newspaper

Have fun with your little one!!!
