The Women
Monday, September 1, 2008 at 03:35AM COMING TO THEATERS SEPTEMBER 12TH
I'm going to the movies with my Spicy- Savvy- Sane friend. I haven't been to the movies in a long while. With two little ones at home and honestly not much showing at the theaters; well, let's just say I haven't felt inspired. I am SO excited to attend "The Women". The Dove campaign for Real Beauty is doing wonderful things to help women and young ladies discover a positive self esteem! After viewing "The Women" I will write a personal review!

I took a look at the short film The Women Behind "The Women" The film follows a 16 year old journalist Cammy Nelson behind-the -scenes of the women as she learns a bit about the real beauty behind this film and also how Hollywood creates the images we see on screen. It is refreshing to see the star cast speak out about their own struggles as teens and how they have come to be confident with who they are.
But This is why I am thrilled to laugh and enjoy the Movie "The Women" with my friend....
The short film encourages women to challenge today’s beauty stereotypes, celebrates the opportunities for women to empower one another and explores the diverse definitions of beauty, shared through interviews with some of the cast and crew of The Women. THE WOMEN The Movie
The Women is a fast-paced, witty and emotional look at all things female, including loyalties, betrayals, careers, families and most of all, friendships. A remake of the 1939 classic film, The Women features an all-female cast of distinguished actresses, including Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, Eva Mendes, Debra Messing, Jada Pinkett Smith, Cloris Leachman, Bette Midler and Candice Bergen.
Diane English makes her theatrical film debut with “The Women,” a passion project 13 years in the making. Based on the iconic 1939 George Cukor-directed comedy/drama. “The Women” presents a rare and welcome modern opportunity for a large ensemble of talented actresses to bond, argue, laugh, cry and entertain together on screen. English is screenwriter, director and producer of the film. She has had an award-winning, prolific career in episodic television. As creator, writer and executive producer of the acclaimed situation comedy “Murphy Brown,” she won three EMMY® Awards, a Golden Globe®, a Peabody and three Writers Guild Awards. The series itself won eighteen EMMY® Awards over its ten-year run at the top of the ratings.
Enjoy and pass on the good news about "The Women" ...women helping women to realize their real beauty!
